Caspian One require a Infrastructure Capacity Manager/Business Analyst for a Tier 1 Investment Bank in Glasgow on contract. The role will sit in the Global Technology department and a new division which has been created - QAPM - Quality Assurance and Production Management.
QAPM provide quality assurance and Production Management services to all clients within the organisation. QAPM partner with development teams to ensure seamless technology delivery to all clients.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Business Analyst you will be expected to provide analytical skills with the ability to report information across a large and diverse set of users, driving tasks to completion within the Capacity Management program. The Program focus lies with the application infrastructure - Servers and storage - looking at average trends, peaks and business forecasts so necessary action can be taken before an incident occurs. In all instances you will be looking at applications and their ability to manage capacity.
You will ensure all evidence is clearly documented and collected - including information on breaches, compliance with policy and procedures, and ensuring teams are utilizing training tools available to them.
Vital to this role is the review of monthly production outages that link capacity as a root cause. - Understanding how to prevent this is key to this role.
Essential Skills:
Previous experience within Capacity Management
Investment Banking experience in a similar role
Good stakeholder management - solid reporting skills
Exposure to risk
Able to manage projects across different time zones
Understanding/knowledge of different applications - CPU, Memory, Network
Working knowledge of systems architecture
Strong problem solving and analytical skills are essential for the role
Advanced Microsoft Excel
Reporting Tools - Qlikview, Business Objects, Tableau
Knowledge of SDLC
