Description

  • Support the design, development, testing, integration and deployment phases of all the designated content value added services
  • Define and review system design and architecture of components assigned to the content value added service (VAS) group. This includes:

    • Participation during requirements and design sessions insuring that component supports functional and technical requirements

    • Ensure that delivered system supports non-functional requirements related to performance, auditing and stability of system.

    • Maintain together with vendor up to date documentation related to component design, API interface spec and configuration/deployment guide

  • Develop and execute component test packs

  • Support integration phase of project providing support related to the content VAS components

  • Support or lead deployment of content VAS systems at affiliates

Job demands:

  • Two or more years of experience in a similar position.

  • Hands on and theoretical knowledge of networking technologies (HTTP, TCP/IP, FTP,..)

  • Hands on and theoretical knowledge of application integration technologies (XML, HTTP REST, JMS, SOAP)

  • Hands on knowledge and experience with Unix (preferably on system admin level)

  • Familiar with SQL

  • Must possess, or develop, a broad knowledge of non-IT systems eg broadcast systems and standards.

  • Experiences with testing applications

  • Must be able to work under pressure and be prepared to occasionally work outside normal working hours when necessary.

  • Ability to understand and validate functional requirements against technical specifications

  • Ability to understand impacts of technical solutions on non-technical aspects of projects (eg project planning, operational aspects)

  • Excellent English.

  • Willingness to travel

Desirable skills and experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of Digital TV systems (MPEG2, Conditional Access, STB's, Middleware)

  • Knowledge of OSS/BSS, CRM and billing systems

  • Knowledge of DOCSIS

  • Theoretical and working knowledge of:

    • Service Oriented Architecture and ESB

    • Web 2.0 and Web Services Technologies
