Compliance Manager -Business and Firm Regulation - Banking

Rate: £850.00 per day

Our financial services client is seeking a Compliance Manager for a 6 month contract, with an option to extend. Providing compliance advice to the business in savings, P&I and some general insurance, banking and consumer credit

Overview of the Compliance Manager -Business and Firm Regulation - Banking

  • Working alongside others in the team, including a Head of Compliance Advice, as a subject matter expert you will take the lead on advising the relevant business areas how the regulatory standards apply to their bau activities and significant projects as they seek to launch new products, change their approach to distribution and adjust to regulatory change
  • Day-to-day you will work with colleagues from across the business at all levels up to and including approved persons, engaging with them to understand their strategic aims and support them achieving these in a way that puts customers at the heart of the decision-making.
  • Consider competitor performance to keep in step with current compliance standards, support the wider department in its responses to scheduled Financial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulatory Authority reviews.
  • Assist in the development of company's compliance and risk profile, identifying issues and pull together the relevant individuals to tackle whatever issues come up.
  • Responsible for developing regulatory expertise within the division, and across the wider Group to ensure our compliance culture is Embedded.

Key Skills required for Risk and Collections Consultant/Project Manager - Banking

Essential

  • Experience of advising senior colleagues on compliance issues within your current or recent previous role, good working knowledge of compliance methodology.
  • Experienced in engaging and challenging business areas on their compliance issues, manage relationships with colleagues in a clear and structured way, keeping people up to date with work progress.
  • Expert compliance knowledge in at least one of areas of banking, savings and general insurance.
  • Analytical and commercially minded approach alongside the desire to create innovative compliance solutions.
  • Ideally your background will be financial services compliance and you will have an industry recognised compliance qualification giving you the ability to develop new knowledge quickly.
  • Looking for an individual with great industry knowledge, the ability to identify and respond to complex emerging issues and motivate others to work together to provide the business with commercially focussed solutions, whilst maintaining our reputation with the regulators.

The role is based in Swindon Wiltshire, this is commutable from London, Berkshire, Bristol, Oxon and Bath.
