Senior Commercial Officer/Commercial Officer required for a leading global defence company based in either Bristol or Plymouth. Candidates require current valid SC clearance.

Key Job Details:

  • Require someone who has knowledge of MoD terms and condition of contract. Not necessarily from the MoD but defence contractor/company that has worked with MoD
  • Types of contract dealing with include Enabling, Logistics Support, Availability
  • Ideally will have supported/managed contracts within a Procurement & Supply Chain, Business Development or Project Management function
  • Will be involved in full life cycle of contract from Bidding/PQQ/tender acceptance through to delivery
  • Will be working in a close knit team so will need to be a 'team player' but also have the ability to work autonomously
  • Working with technical, quality, finance teams
  • Behavioural skills are critical for the role and must be meticulous in way of working
  • To provide support and guidance to the business regarding pricing, contractual terms and conditions and other commercial issues and risks.
  • To support the CISR (communications) Director & Management Team and the Head of Commercial as and when required acting as the point of contact for various internal and external stakeholders for a number of existing contracts.
  • To participate in and assure new business opportunities through the completion of commercial tendering and approval processes
  • To assist and assure the Project Management function with respect to contract management including project control, variations, risk management, milestones and financial progress
  • To provide general management and contractual information, and assist with resource forecasts and costings, which are properly constructed and achieved. To ensure an accurate audit trail of commercial decisions is maintained and commercial administration is kept up to date.
  • To ensure that all policies and procedures are followed, consistently across the business, and improved where necessary.
  • To lead and support commercial discussions and negotiations with internal and external customers.
