Combat Systems Integration Engineer - Naval

A Combat Systems Integration Engineer with combat systems, integration, AVAL, Naval is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Bristol.

This is a six month contract working for a UK leading defence company.

Overview of the Combat Systems Integration Engineer contract role

Good understanding of the equipment's and engineering processes used on Integrated Military systems. Understanding of the need to capture and maintain data generated for use by the project and the tools and techniques so used. Prior use of project toolsets (eg DOORS, System Architect, Windchill, SDE) is desirable.

Key skills required for the Combat Systems Integration Engineer

To act as the CS Integration Engineer for the Shared Infrastructure & Information Systems Combat Systems Equipment (CSE) including development of the associated ISE and LBIF. Major Tasks and Activities: Develop the Integration Strategy and plan of activities for the Shared Infrastructure (SI) CSE that are aligned with the CS Integration Strategy, Management Plan and Master Equipment Logic Flow documentation and produced from System Architect. Develop the Integration Strategy and plan of activities for the Information Systems (IS) CSE that are aligned with the CS Integration Strategy, Management Plan and MELF documentation and produced from System Architect. Design and develop SI & IS integration and trials requirements (including GFX) for the Platforms, Land Based Integration Facility and Integration Support Environments. To review and validate the SI and IS Test and Integration documentation and schedules provided to by the CSE Supplier Contract or GFA Supplier Agreement. For each identified IT&T integration activity, develop documentation for the Plan (to enable the programming of the trial to be agreed) and Specification (to enable the content of the trial to be agreed) of each. To observe the conduct of integration activities where specified in the CS Integration Strategy. Collate evidence from the SI and IS integration and trials activities to contribute to achievement of CS acceptance. To support the CSE Delivery leads in progressing and achieving GFA Supply Agreements, Design Development Agreements and DMS Procurement Contracts providing the appropriate IT&T contributions; generating reports and documentation as required. To facilitate liaison between CSE Delivery leads, CSE Suppliers and wider members of the IT&T for SI & IS matters. Provide CS IT&T SI and IS information to inform the DMS contract change process with associated costs. Identify CS IT&T safety and technical risks and propose mitigation actions. To provide timely and appropriate CS IT&T input to corporate documents.

The role is based in Bristol - commutable from Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Worcester, Cirencester, Swindon, Devizes, Trowbridge, Bath, Taunton, Bridgwater, Weston-Super-Mare, Newport and Cardiff.
