Database administration position involving management of multiple SQL databases in a highly dynamic environment. Senior operations role. Agile, Dynamic environment. Looking more for a lead. Not a manager.Job Duties:
- Work as part of a team in support of operational and project related activities.
- Provide advanced technical and operational support to other departments and teams as required in support of business objectives.
- Provide 24 x 7 on call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for applications and systems.
- Provide advanced technical support for database related project activities.
- Build and modify systems to meet project and user requirements.
Manager is looking for a SR DBA Leader. Mandatory function will be Sr Operations DBA that is an expert in troubleshooting in a highly dynamic environment VERY fast paced.
Skills/Qualifications:
- A four year degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience is required.
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of most SQL utilities such as BCP, DTS, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of T-SQL and ability to write stored procedures, UDFs and triggers.
- Advanced knowledge of debugging and performance tuning stored procedures, UDFs and triggers.
- Advanced knowledge of index analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of various monitoring and tuning tools such as Profiler, Precise, Spotlight.
- Advanced knowledge of advanced installation and configuration procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of data normalization.
- Proven competence with partitioning advanced queuing, cursors, etc.
- Working knowledge of hardware, including RAID, multi-processor architecture, etc.
- Working knowledge of VBScript and advanced DTS package design.
- Working knowledge of networking and how it relates to SQL Server connectivity.
- Working knowledge of at least one high level programming language (VB, C#, C++)
- Ability to create tools from scratch needed for database administration.
- Advanced knowledge of Shell Scripting (ie command line applications, batch files, etc.)
- 4-6 years experience in a large SQL environment.
- Solid experience with Windows operating system.
- Must have Replication, they do a lot. Need deep experience in this area
- Looking for someone who can troubleshoot in a large, enterprise production environment.
- 6-7 years of real production troubleshooting.
- Telecommunications not required.
