Financial Objectives:- Prepare annual budget
- Provide monthly forecasts
- Create monthly status reports
- Schedule expenditures
- Analyze and explain variances
- Initiate mitigation and corrective actions as necessary to meet financial objectives
- Create and implement a wireless deployment installation schedule
- Plan activities and tasks associated with the Leased Line Elimination project, including wireless WiMax installations and Fiber builds
- Manage construction activities associated with the Leased Line Elimination project and coordinate Substation Construction and Overhead Transmission crews, as well as, various contractors
- Coordinate with in house Civil, High Voltage, and System Protection design groups to obtain drawings and communications equipment installation and location approvals
- Work with Environmental group and outside contractors to obtain zoning and permitting approvals
- Interface with the Utility Communications Engineering group for project engineering, design, and implementation matters.
- Manage IT projects, initiation through close-out, as assigned and within the parameters of cost, quality, schedule and objectives.
- Provide leadership for IT project team members and the Project Management process.
- Position generally used for projects requiring integration of multiple functional organizations.
- Works independently and mentors other project managers.
- Responsible for the pursuit of cost reductions and maximizing value on all assigned projects.
- Responsible for project communications and required negotiations with internal and external organizations.
- Directly accountable for the management of projects with an aggregate annual cash flow of over $3 million.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Technical or Management Discipline with 10 years overall experience of which 6 years have been as a project team member.
- OR 12 years of directly applicable industry experience, 6 years of which must be in the field of management of projects AND PMP Certification.
- Wireless deployment projects, knowledge of Wimax, telecommunications terminology
- Developing Budgets, schedules, project management, process improvement, forecasting financial, verbal and written communications
- Well versed in using Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Working within an electric utility environment, ie electrical substations and power plants
- Managing telecommunications/IT projects
- Wireless communications system deployments
- Some experience with construction preferred
