*** ETL Oracle DBA - Glasgow - 5 month contract ***

Our public sector client has a fantastic opportunity for an Oracle DBA with ETL experience ideally SSIS to join them on a large scale data migration project from legacy systems.

Duties will include:

* Define, develop, document, implement and maintain Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) mappings and scripts
* Data migration project
* Assist with the development of ETL test plans and test the ETL code
* Ensure optimisation and performance of reporting databases, managed ETL processes and data refresh through appropriate tuning of services
* Provide database systems support
* Maintain data standards
* Ensure the integrity and security of database systems
* Undertake deployment and configuration of local and national database solutions to live environment

Desirable Skills:

* Oracle 11g DBA
* SSIS
* Extensive experience developing and supporting Oracle databases in both Solaris and Windows environments
* Shell / Visual Basic / Batch scripting experience working with significant experience of Oracle Streams, dataguard, Rman and Grid Control.
* Experience of 24x7 high availability environments, installing and configuring new databases, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, tuning and script development for Oracle databases
* Experience of SAN technologies and Veritas tools / clustered fail-over strategies
* Extensive knowledge of ETL solutions for business intelligence

Due to the high-level security clearance required for this role, candidates must have been living and working in the UK for a minimum of 5 years and be able to pass credit and criminal record checks OR currently be SC cleared.
