Senior MySQL Database administrator - 3 month+ Contract
Rate: very competitive and dependent on experience
Location: Manchester City Centre
The client: A leading organisation in their field, with offices worldwide.
Key responsibilities
.Automating systems management of new and existing Databases.
. Actively monitoring the performance and stability of all the production and internal Database infrastructure at rentalcars.com, using your analytical skills to anticipate future problems and resolve them effectively.
. Troubleshooting and resolving problems with other Database administrators, systems administrators, software developers.
. Supporting the rapid development and deployment of internal software and systems.
. Provide excellent service in response to commercial business requirements. You will have to provide knowledge and support to technical software developers.
. Documenting systems and communicate technical knowledge to Colleagues.
Skills needed:
. At least five years' experience of administering large-scale MySQL and InnoDB deployments with intensive use of MySQL replication
. Experience working in a senior technical role.
. Good proficiency in Linux systems administration
. Python programming and Bourne Shell Scripting is a plus.
. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, under pressure.
