Description
A global information technology and Services company is currently seeking a Performance and Capacity Management Specialist for an initial 5 month contract (high possibility to extend) based in West Pennant Hills.
The successful candidate will provide performance and capacity management expertise for many technologies and platforms (Mainframe, Unix, Linux and Windows environments, Virtualised environments such as VMware, Storage and Backup) for business services, applications and/or infrastructure systems.
To be successful in this role:
- Performance management in a virtualised midrange environment.
- Capacity management experience in a virtualised midrange environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows, Unix or Linux operating systems, databases, application systems, associated storage and backup.
- Knowledge of VMware, Solaris and pSeries virtualisation
- Expertise in using capacity and performance analysis tools, models and reporting infrastructure, especially SQL, DB2 and the ITM monitoring suite.
- Ability to consider performance and capacity aspects of business solutions including technical infrastructure, tools and labour costs.
- Understanding of business needs and opportunities.
- Adept in statistical techniques.
- Capable of designing and/or creating meaningful tests, models or tools.
- Recognizes capacity and performance problems during analysis of measurement and/or test data and able to make appropriate recommendations.
- Able to discuss design or development details with the appropriate parties in those organizations.
- Able to lead or advise others in capacity or performance analysis techniques.
- Update capacity plan with analysis and recommendations.
- Present capacity plan to customer.
