Project history
My position here involved breaking up a monolith into microservices and microfrontends while also assuming ownership of some of the newly created services. I functioned as both a Tech Lead and Solutions Architect where I had to come up with the technical plan on how to break up the monolith. I rewrote the entire authentication/authorization solution by abstracting Autho and an in-house Directory claims based authorization solution using TypeScript, NestJS, AWS Lambda and ElasticSearch and did the entire CI/CD pipeline with Kubernetes on EKS and ArgoCD and IaC using Terraform. I participated in spinning up a chatbot that would help our internal customer support/success team by understanding and being able to query multiple knowledge bases including Confluence and Sharepoint. I created the microfrontend framework that is still used to power a huge front-end application with more than 30 engineers behind it by abstracting Single-spa and adding helpers for TypeScript type sharing as well as data contextualization and data sharing across microfrontends. I helped build a net new app for homeowners as a new business avenue using TypeScript, NestJS, GraphQL, AWS Lambda with SST and Flutter on the front-end.
I worked on their internal app that manages stores, employees, stocks and storefronts. My position involved working with their Big Data stores and aggregating data into a new Data Lake that could be used by the BI team to improve store performance. This was a new project which involved creating ETL data funnels from multiple data streams and aggregating them into an Azure Data Lake to then be queried. We did both the data ingestion piece using AWS Lambda with Node.js and Redis and the CI/CI/IaC with Terraform and Serverless (CDK) dashboards and data querying application front-ends using React.
For Rubicon I joined the core team with the goal of rewriting their entire app into a modern stack of Node.js and React. We also used Tensorflow and ElasticSearch to perform AI image processing on Street View data that then allowed us to generate reports on potential new customers.
