Job Purpose:
Are you passionate about cybersecurity and eager to start a career in protecting critical systems and data? We are seeking a motivated Apprentice SOC (Security Operations Center) Analyst to join our team in Stevenage. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while developing the skills needed to become a cybersecurity professional. You will play a key role in monitoring and responding to security incidents, learning from experienced SOC analysts, and contributing to the security of our organization's digital assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Monitoring: Assist in monitoring network traffic, security events, and alerts using various security tools and technologies to detect potential threats.
- Incident Response: Support the SOC team in responding to security incidents, including analysing alerts, investigating suspicious activities, and escalating incidents as needed.
- Threat Intelligence: Participate in gathering and analysing threat intelligence to stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
- Security Tools Management: Learn to configure and maintain security tools and technologies used within the SOC, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems.
- Reporting: Assist in creating and updating security incident reports, documenting findings, and maintaining accurate records of all security-related activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT and security teams to ensure effective communication and coordination during security incidents and investigations.
- Continuous Learning: Engage in continuous learning and development through training, certifications, and on-the-job experience to build a solid foundation in cybersecurity.

Qualifications:
- Education: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Mathematics, and IT. Further education in IT, Computer Science, or related fields is a plus.
- Enthusiasm to Learn:No prior professional experience is required, but a strong willingness to learn and develop in a cybersecurity role is essential.
