Position Overview:
We are seeking a focused and highly motivated Storage and Backup Engineer to support a business-critical, high volume eCommerce environment containing NetApp ONTAP/Cloud Volume ONTAP, GCPBDR, and Veeam.
Responsibility:
• NetApp/Netapp CVO storage (block/file) provisioning and management.
• Implement production change activities for routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance to ensure high availability for all devices.
• Be available for an on-call rotation with the ability to troubleshoot and communicate outside of normal business hours.
• Assist with storage and backup analysis, capacity planning, and performance planning of storage components.
• Writing administrative scripts and utilize other automation tools.
• Configure and maintain backups.
• Perform data/system recovery.
• Support implementation of storage software upgrades (NetApp ONTAP and Cloud Volume ONTAP)
• Manages day-to-day operations activities that includes but not limited to: change implementation, major incident triage, task organization, SLA/SLO, audit, and problem management.
• Configure/maintain replication, encryption, allocation/reclaims, storage efficiency, etc.
• Review operations issues/risks, evaluate, and present mitigation options.
• Develops strategy to stay current and supporting upcoming storage and backup technologies.
• Make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, that requires minimal direction and seeks guidance where needed.
Requirement
• Extensive storage knowledge and experience with NAS, SAN, and Software Defined Storage.
• 3 plus years public cloud experience with AWS/Azure/GCP.
• 5 plus years of storage/backup administration experience.
• Hands-on experience with cloud and on-premises enterprise storage environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Due to the 24 x 7 operations of the business, must be able to work a flexible work schedule which will include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Certification in NetApp, GCP, AWS, Azure technologies desired.
• Knowledge of cloud platform orchestration layer and automation tools such as Ansible desired.
