Configuration Manager

Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires a Configuration Manager to be based in UK.

You can work remotely in the UK and will be required to attend the client's London office during workshops.

This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start ASAP.

Day rate: Competitive Market rate

Key Responsibilities

  • Creation and decommission of in-scope CIs on provisioning or decommissioning of systems and components.
  • Maintenance of CIs by implementing CI-update requests that were made by other service management processes, via the ITSM toolsets.
  • Update CI details based on Service Requests.
  • Maintain CMDB Process Definition, Standards & Policies documents for Customer (for IAAS Services)
  • Communicate any change on Customer owned components.
  • Configuring CMDB Reports and Dashboards.
  • Performing operational activities as defined by CMDB policies and procedures.
  • Defining process KPIs and measuring and monitoring the same .
  • Collecting and reporting on metrics as required.
  • Manage Infrastructure CIs and software assets using CMDB tools (D42, Jira, Service Now).
  • Create and maintain Infrastructure CI cycle status reports, metrics, and benchmarks.
  • Manage Infrastructure CI inventory by tracking age, warranty, and depreciation for timely replacements, when applicable.
  • Supports the definition of guidelines for the use of Infrastructure CI and IT assets in partnership with Information Security, including collaboration on internal and external audits.
  • Monitors the Infrastructure CIs to ensure they are being used appropriately and provides regular reports on their usage.
  • Actively evaluates industry solutions to drive continuous improvement and automation for ongoing asset management activities.
  • Manages asset risks and issues that may affect IT services and end-user productivity.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in Configuration Management.
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully managing hardware, software assets, ensuring that each asset is identifiable, recorded and audited with clear understanding and transparency around purchase costs and depreciation models.
  • Experience in creating and managing a Configuration Management System.
  • ITIL certified.
  • Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills needed for liaison with others.

Special Working Conditions

  • Ensuring 24/7 shift coverage, you will be engaged in round-the-clock rotational shifts to maintain uninterrupted operational support and service availability.
  • You will be working in rotational shifts to ensure a continuous and well-distributed coverage across different time periods.
