Data Engineer - HIRING ASAP

Start date: ASAP
Duration: 11 Months
Location: 1 week per month in Galway, 3 weeks working from home
Rate: €485 per day

Summary:
We are currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer to work on Asset Management's Equity and Common Data Platforms to support Equity Advisors business specific requirements. This is a hands-on role where you will understand the requirements, contribute to designs and develop specific product features including model and provision datasets, develop consumption interfaces, build reusable components and resilient cloud-based services, provide insights etc.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the delivering of high quality, timely, cost effective and maintainable software solutions in an agile environment to meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Complying with and helping to adopt good engineering practices such as test-driven development, code and design reviews, oracle xplans, CI/CD
  • Work independently in delivering complex technical features.
  • Communicate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • You demonstrate a positive, collaborative attitude while delivering individually.
Key Skills
  • Familiarity with logical data modelling and relational database design
  • Data movement and ETL experience would be beneficial (preferably Informatica)
  • Experience working with native AWS services, creating Data APIs, Snowflake and Python would be advantageous.
  • Data Warehousing knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Exposure to GIT, Jenkins and CICD Processes
  • Financials and Investment domains exposure will be a plus.
  • Experience working in agile methodology, providing L3 support, and working as part of geographically distributed teams is desirable.
  • Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle SQL & PL/SQL
  • Expertise in data analysis
  • Experience in SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning.
  • Exposure to Agile development practices
