Desktop Infrastructure Analyst

Location: Manchester

Duration: 6 months

Rate: £150 per day

Start: ASAP

IR35 Status: Inside

Role Overview:

We require a Desktop Infrastructure Analyst to work in our Clients IT Deskside Support Team based in the Manchester Area

The role is to provide 2nd Line Desktop Support and to support the move of the Clients network to private IP addresses across the entire estate from the publicly accessible IP addresses currently in use.

The role will also include installing, configuring and providing support for Windows 10 machines and network printers, as well as Apple Macs. Preferable Linux devices, too.

Experience of hardware, software and network troubleshooting are essential together with hardware deployments and upgrades.

Knowledge of a range of Operating Systems.

Carrying out routine collection of information and records

Good use of Microsoft Office applications

You will possess a minimum of 2 years experience working within a desktop support environment

Duties also to include:

Covering a range of activities including the installation or removal of hardware and/or software, confirming the correct working of installations.

Responding to and resolving a range of issues with customers' hardware, software and peripherals, across a wide range of equipment and operating systems.

Documenting and recording all work undertaken, and actively working to ensure knowledge sharing amongst colleagues.

Conducting tests of hardware and/or software affected using supplied test procedures and diagnostic tools.

Installing or removing hardware and/or software, using supplied installation instructions and tools, following agreed standards and procedures.

The offices and employee's uses Windows, Mac and Linux devices. Linux knowledge is advantageous, but not critical

Must have excellent customer service skills and be an effective communicator. The role will be dealing with employee's onsite across multiple buildings.
