The Controlling department has the ambition to lead a transformation programme to improve internal processes by aiming for operational excellence and to develop new activities alongside its purely financial control role.

A roadmap has been drawn up along these two lines:

operational excellence:
• Consolidate knowledge within the department by developing training courses and documenting procedures
• Automate control tasks
• Improve reporting
• Develop new channels of communication with the business
The development of new activities:
• Implementation of a performance management system
• Developing a resource management concept
• Implementing an efficiency programme
• Digitalising our activities
As part of the continuous improvement of its operational activities, the Business Controlling department wants to update its procedures. Controlling activities focus on 4 key areas:
• Forecasting: budget, best estimate, business plan,...
• Closing
• Reporting
• Analyzing and advising
The assignment involves
• Make an inventory of existing procedures and restructure them
• Identify updating needs, prioritise and draw up an updating plan
• For some procedures, drafting a new version based on existing documents and input from controllers (interviews, workshops, etc.)
• For certain procedures, coordinate the drafting carried out by other people and structure the elements
• Identify opportunities for improvement and make proposals

• The procedures will have to fit into the structure of the existing processes (BPMN) and be accompanied, if necessary, by work instructions.
Service requirements:
• Min 3 years experience in implementing, certifying or maintaining an ISO9001 quality system.
• Mastery of BPMN
• Knowledge of corporate financial processes and accounting rules
• Knowledge of Elia's businesses and organisation is an asset
• ability to listen, structure, analytical approach
• Self-starter

- Start: 01.05.24 approx. 4 months, extension possible
- Workload: 5 days per week
- Location: Working location will be mainly in the Brussels area (homeworking possible 2-3 days a week)
