Engineer - Azure | Databricks | Scala | Spark

Location: Southampton (Hybrid - minimum 1 day per week onsite, Wednesdays)
Contract: 6 months

We are recruiting for an experienced Engineer to join Ordnance Survey on the Zoomstack Delivery project. This is an exciting opportunity to work on secure, scalable cloud-based data solutions within a collaborative Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and deploy secure software components.

• Develop data processing modules using Databricks, Scala, and Spark.

• Build and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure and data pipelines.

• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Bicep.

• Ensure software is secure, reliable, scalable, and thoroughly tested.

• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams.

• Produce high-quality technical documentation.

• Champion engineering best practices and DevSecOps principles.

Essential Skills

• Azure DevOps

• Azure Cloud Services (Entra ID, Azure Batch, ADLS, Azure Data Factory)

• Databricks (including Unity Catalog)

• Apache Spark

• Scala

• Bicep (Infrastructure as Code)

• Python

• PowerShell

• DevSecOps

• CI/CD pipelines

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Working Pattern

• Hybrid working based in Southampton.

• Minimum 1 day per week onsite (Wednesday).

• Attendance required for monthly and quarterly team days.

Contract Details

• 6-Month Contract

• Inside IR35

• PAYE/Umbrella only

• No security clearance required.
