Interim Chief Accounting Officer

We are currently seeking an experienced Chief Accounting Officer (m/f/d) for an international industrial company in the energy sector. This interim role reports directly to the CFO and oversees the entire accounting organization based in London.

Start: asap (within the next 1-2 weeks)

Duration: 6-12 months

Remote/On-Site: London, mainly on-site

YOUR CHALLENGE

• 
  
  Full responsibility for accounting, financial reporting, and compliance with US-GAAP and SEC requirements
• 
  
  Lead and develop a team of around 15 professionals, including 3 direct reports
• 
  
  Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes at the group level
• 
  
  Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal company policies
• 
  
  Collaborate closely with the CFO, Controlling, Treasury, and external auditors
• 
  
  Streamline and standardize accounting processes and implement best practices
• 
  
  Act as the key expert for technical accounting matters and complex transactions
• 
  
  Oversee internal controls (SOX) and strengthen governance structures within finance
• 
  
  Contribute to strategic finance initiatives and projects aimed at operational efficiency

YOUR TALENTS

• 
  
  Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• 
  
  Several years of leadership experience in accounting within an international, preferably listed company
• 
  
  In-depth knowledge of US-GAAP, SEC reporting, and strong technical accounting expertise
• 
  
  Proven experience in managing and developing global finance teams
• 
  
  Proficiency in consolidation, reporting systems, and complex financial structures
• 
  
  Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with a hands-on approach
• 
  
  Experience working with external auditors and regulatory authorities
• 
  
  Analytical mindset combined with strategic vision and executional strength
• 
  
  Fluent in English, both written and spoken
