Type: Initial 6 month contract
Rate: £70 p/h Inside IR35
Location: Portsmouth
Start Date: ASAP

One of our key clients is looking for a SC cleared Java Developer to come in and join the business on a 6 month contract and start ASAP, the role requires the successful candidate to be on site minimum 2 days per week.

The prime reason for this role is to help develop a new Java based application for a forthcoming program. It will involve in utilising some of the existing components developed in the past and common to all programs.

Essential Requirements

  • UK SC clearance required
  • Demonstrable experience of Core Java development for distributed software systems
  • Java 8 onwards
  • Spring Framework
  • Message-based parsing (JSON & XML)
  • Importance of TDD & BDD
  • Agile team working using JIRA
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux platforms
  • Scalable, distributed software systems
  • Enterprise Design Patterns
  • Understanding of database
  • Software Modelling (UML)
  • Documentation skills (UML)
  • Unit & integration testing JUnit, Mockito

In addition to the above if you have any exposure to the following then it would be a bonus;

  • Functional Programming
  • Reactive Development & Actor Based Concurrency (AKKA)
  • Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) with Cucumber
  • Container & Cloud Technologies (Docker/AWS/Azure/OpenShift)
  • Understanding of network connectivity (LAN) and protocol stacks (TCP/UDP)
