We are seeking a NetDevOps Engineer for a long-term freelance opportunity with a leading retail client based in
the Netherlands. Our client is focused on enhancing their e-commerce platform and IT infrastructure to improve
scalability, reliability, and security. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team to modernise the company's
network infrastructure and cloud systems, supporting their growing online and in-store operations. The project
involves building and optimising network automation solutions to support the company's transition to a
microservices-based architecture, enabling faster product releases and improved customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated solutions to manage network configurations, deployments, and monitoring across a multi-cloud environment.
  • Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline the release of network configurations and software updates.
  • Collaborate with cloud engineers to deploy, manage, and optimise networking resources across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.
  • Set up network monitoring systems to track performance, availability, and security. Implement proactive troubleshooting and remediation processes.
  • Work closely with security teams to ensure that network architectures follow the best practices in terms of security, scalability, and compliance (PCI-DSS, GDPR, etc.).
  • Work cross-functionally with DevOps, software engineers, and network engineers to ensure infrastructure-as-code principles are applied. Document the network architecture, automation procedures, and CI/CD pipeline setups for ongoing reference.

Technical Skills & Experience:
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, VPN, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud networking in e.g. AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN solutions and cloud network integration.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, or Shell) for network automation tasks.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker for container orchestration.
  • Familiar with network monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana.
  • Understanding of security best practices and experience with firewall configurations (e.g., Palo Alto,Cisco).
  • Knowledge of industry compliance standards such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, or ISO 27001
