Description

The Network Transport Engineer will support, operate, and maintain IP transport networks using Cisco and Juniper routing and switching technologies. The role focuses on ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performance network infrastructure across core, aggregation, and access layers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco and Juniper routing and switching platforms

  • Support core, aggregation, and edge network environments

  • Perform network upgrades, migrations, and software life cycle management

  • Monitor performance, availability, and capacity of transport networks

  • Implement and support secure access and authentication services

  • Participate in incident resolution, maintenance windows, and change management

Routing & Switching Platforms:

  • Cisco 2800, 2811, 2851, 2900, 3030, 3845

  • Cisco 6500, 6509E, 7606, 7609-S

  • Cisco Nexus 93120, 9348

  • Cisco Catalyst 4948, 6500

Network Operating Systems:

  • Cisco IOS 12.1, 12.2, 12.4, 15.0

Security & Access Control:

  • Cisco Secure ACS 5.8

  • Cisco ISE 2.4.0.357

  • Cisco SNS 3415, 3615

Systems & Virtualization:

  • VMware ESXi 6.7

  • SunOS 5.8

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience in network transport, routing, and switching

  • Strong knowledge of IP Networking (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS preferred)

  • Experience in enterprise or service provider environments

  • Cisco and/or Juniper certifications are a plus
