Description
This is an opportunity for a professional who brings Procurement/Strategic Sourcing experience, ideally from the finance and banking sector, to join a high-grade team at a Tier 1 bank.
Essential: Previous Procurement/Strategic Sourcing experience. Ideally, at least 5 years. Candidates with, say, 3 years Procurement/Sourcing experience or those with 15+ years experience may be considered.
The contractor can be based at our client's Birmingham or London offices.
Role summary:
Working on the bank's strategy as it engages with external consultancy and recruitment agent groups, examining the current sourcing process and working on initiatives to enable the bank to better identify the most suitable consulting vendor for each engagement.
Working in partnership with business stakeholders, utilising Source to Pay technology systems.
Delivering commercial excellence through project-specific and category-wide financial analytics, including analysis of budgets and bid returns to identify cost-saving opportunities and to inform negotiation strategy.
Liaising with legal teams to draft and negotiate contract terms while ensuring appropriate contract structures, pricing models, vendor incentive models, service level agreements and performance indicators are applied consistently across vendors.
Tracking and reporting on executed contracts including spend and other trends of strategic vendors to understand impact across the firm.
Liaising across business and vendor stakeholders to identify and escalate vendor or client sensitivities, as well as identifying commercial and relationship opportunities.
Engaging with Risk Partners across the organisation (eg compliance, technology, legal, finance, information security) to review control requirements and drive resolution of Strategic Sourcing issues.
Supporting the bank's Vendor Diversity Program by seeking to incorporate small and diverse vendors into our supply chain.
Systems: Familiarity with Ariba and/or Fieldglass is desirable (not essential).
Work Style: Please note that for the first 2 months on the contract you will be required to work Full time at the office. After that, there will be the potential to work 1 day per week from home.
