Title: Python (Django) Developer
Location: Brussels (50% onsite is mandatory)
Duration: 12 Months + Extension
Local Belgian preferred - as relocation will not be possible
Role: Django Developer
Context
We are looking for professionals with experience in Python, and more specifically Django, to help design, develop, and test interactive tools that support data annotation and validation of machine learning model outputs.
As part of an Agile team, the developer contributes skills such as analysis, design, development, testing, and integration — working closely with other team members to deliver valuable outcomes at the end of each sprint.
This role requires familiarity with the Django templating system, use of htmx, background job queues, and integrating with external APIs.
Responsibilities
The Django Developer is expected to work closely with the team to deliver value during each sprint. This includes engaging with business users and turning their needs into working technical solutions that integrate with existing IT systems.
The developer works through the team backlog, prioritizing tasks agreed upon by the Product Owner and stakeholders based on value delivered to internal or external users.
The role requires alignment with Scrum values: focus, commitment, openness, respect, and courage. Collaboration, knowledge sharing, clear communication, and continuous learning are essential.
Language Requirements
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Active knowledge of at least one local language and passive understanding of another is a plus
Education & Certifications
A degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
Certifications in Python, programming, Linux administration, or networking are a plus
Experience Requirements
Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience
Must-have Technical Skills
Strong experience with Django
Solid background in Python software engineering
Experience with Git
Nice-to-have Technical Skills
Familiarity with DevOps or MLOps
Experience with testing tools like Gherkin or Behave
Ability to work with multiple programming languages (polyglot)
