Description

Job Title: SCADA Desktop Packager
Location: Hybrid - 70% Remote/30% Birmingham)
Rate: £650 - £700 per day (inside IR35)
Clearance: Active Security Clearance required.

Summary:
The Desktop Packager will be responsible for the packaging and deployment of software applications to Windows and Linux computers.
This role requires a strong understanding of software packaging tools and technologies. Responsibilities include creating installation packages (MSI, RPM etc), Scripting, deployments and managing software distribution.
You will need ensure efficient and reliable software delivery, whilst understanding requirements and adhering to security standards for a secure environment.

Key Skills:

  • Strong understanding of software packaging tools and technologies.
  • Proficiency in creating software packages for Windows (MSI, EXE) and Linux (RPM, DEB)
  • Experience with Scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash and Python
  • Knowledge of software deployment tools such as Ansible and Tanium Deploy
  • Understanding Windows and Linux Operating system and their software management mechanism.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve packaging issues.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with on-premises-based software deployment solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Good at documentation and implementing service improvements.
