Project Summary:
A growing e-commerce brand needs a hands-on senior developer to lead platform transition. You’ll audit the current setup, keep the site stable, ship a few high-impact fixes, and add lightweight guardrails (release flow, monitoring, runbooks). You’ll conclude with a clear path forward, whether to keep, refactor, or replace systems so the team can execute confidently.
Responsibilities:
- Rapid discovery: 2–3 week technical audit of the current stack (frontend, backend, DB, hosting, integrations)
- Feature delivery: scoped improvements to catalog, checkout, admin flows, and content.
- Automation & quality: set up/right-size CI/CD, basic test coverage, error monitoring, and logs
- Documentation: architecture map, runbooks, coding standards
- Roadmap & recommendation: compare keep/refactor/replatform options, with effort, risk, timeline, and costed scenarios; propose a minimal viable path.
- Knowledge transfer: handover to internal staff or future vendor.
Must-have Profile:
- 5+ years in web product engineering; can act as senior IC + fractional tech lead.
- Angular 17 (components, routing, state, forms; performance best practices).
- ASP.NET/C# (Web API, services, clean architecture patterns); SQL proficiency.
- Building and consuming REST APIs, auth/session, caching, error handling.
- Practical DevOps: CI/CD, environment config, observability; comfort on common cloud/PaaS.
- E-commerce experience (catalog, checkout, payments, integrations) is a strong plus.
- Language requirement: Working knowledge of Italian
