About the Project
Our client is a leading European operator of critical energy infrastructure, driving the energy transition through the development and operation of a reliable, sustainable, and innovative electricity network.
To support several strategic IT applications within Content Management, Asset Management, and Market Management domains, we are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer to join an agile international team.
You will work alongside experienced engineers and business stakeholders in an English-speaking environment, contributing to high-quality software delivery through manual and automated testing.

Service Description
The mission consists of the following tasks:

Writing Test Plans and Test Scenarios
The mission consists in writing test plans and test scenarios based on existing documentation and existing functionalities for the supported applications.
The consultant will:
  1. Write comprehensive test plans and detailed test scenarios
  2. Recommend which tests should be executed (e.g. non-regression tests) based on User Story acceptance criteria and identified risks
  3. Produce documentation that is clear and accessible for an international English-speaking audience
Test scenarios include:
  1. Functional testing
  2. Non-functional testing (load, performance, security, data quality, etc.)
  3. Integration testing
  4. Non-regression testing

Preparing Test Data
  1. Select or create appropriate test data before executing test scenarios.

Executing Test Scenarios
  1. Execute test plans and test scenarios
  2. Document successful and failed test executions
  3. Collect and maintain test evidence (logs, screenshots, etc.)
  4. Work pragmatically while respecting sprint planning and team priorities

Test Automation
In coordination with the development team:
  1. Select suitable test cases for automation
  2. Implement automated tests
  3. Maintain and execute automated test suites on a regular basis

Defect Management
  1. Report and track defects using the team's bug tracking tools
  2. Maintain and update test documentation
  3. Collaborate closely with developers and project leaders to achieve the required quality level
  4. Validate fixes and support release decisions by providing testing sign-off
  5. Reproduce defects found in acceptance and production environments when required

Work Allocation
  1. 30% Test specification
  2. 30% Test automation
  3. 30% Test execution & defect follow-up
  4. 10% Test reporting

Requirements
Mandatory Skills
  1. Proven experience writing test plans, test designs and test scenarios
  2. Strong experience in test automation
  3. Programming or scripting experience (e.g. Python) or the ability to demonstrate equivalent logical thinking (pseudo code)
  4. Good knowledge of performance testing
  5. Basic knowledge of SQL, NoSQL and database queries
  6. Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
  7. Fluent English (working language)
Technical Skills
  1. Experience with Playwright and/or Robot Framework is highly desirable
  2. Understanding of common IT concepts such as:
  3. APIs
  4. Web Services
  5. Frontend / Backend architectures
  6. Client-Server applications
  7. Communication protocols
  8. Experience with RabbitMQ is a strong advantage
  9. Experience working with DevOps tickets is an advantage
  10. Experience with security testing is an advantage
