Our client a global solutions provider renowned for delivering cutting-edge and reliable IT solutions across various industries. We are seeking an experienced and SC Cleared Senior Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team and lead our technical support operations.

Job Description

As an SC Cleared Senior Systems Administrator you will be responsible for leading and developing our technical support team, ensuring efficient and effective task execution. You will produce detailed reports and deliver presentations across the organization, plan and organize technical requirements, and provide expert 3rd Line Support for a variety of server, storage, and networking technologies. Your role will also include ensuring adherence to IT security best practices, with a particular emphasis on MOD standards and accreditation processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a technical support team, directing staff to undertake tasks efficiently.
  • Produce detailed reports and deliver presentations organization-wide.
  • Plan and organize the delivery of technical requirements to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Provide expert 3rd Line Support for server, storage, and networking technologies.
  • Ensure adherence to IT security best practices and MOD standards.
  • Manage and configure Microsoft Windows Servers (2016, 2019) and related infrastructure technologies.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco or HP Switches and Checkpoint or Fortinet Firewalls.
  • Provide quality and technical assurance within complex projects.
  • Manage Microsoft Azure (IaaS, SaaS) and AWS cloud services.
  • Administer Office 365, including Microsoft Teams.
  • Implement and manage Microsoft Hyper-V and Storage Spaces Direct.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven leadership and staff development experience in a technical/support team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for report writing and presentations.
  • Strong communication skills to present to all staff levels.
  • Expertise in a wide variety of server, storage, and networking technologies at a 3rd Line Support level.
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices, with emphasis on MOD standards and accreditation processes.
  • Expert experience with Microsoft Windows Servers 2016, 2019, and other server/infrastructure technologies in a large enterprise environment.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco or HP Switches and Checkpoint or Fortinet Firewalls.
  • Experience in providing quality/technical assurance within complex projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, SaaS) and AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with Office 365 administration, including Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V and Storage Spaces Direct.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Familiarity with business continuity concepts, such as risk management, business impact analysis, countermeasures, and contingency arrangements for IT service disruptions.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and other open-source technologies.
  • Experience with Scripting or automation technologies.
  • Experience with Fortinet products.
