Description
Systemingenieur:in Eyewear
Responsibilities -
Refine and adapt frame-CAD files for integration of EC lenses, flex cables, and PCB sub-assemblies
Define and coordinate system-level testing protocols to evaluate mechanical robustness, switching performance, and electrical integrity
Support in design-for-assembly, routing of electrical components within limited space, and contact placement
Explore options to manufacture (e.g. perform 3D printing prototyping and coordinate with externals)
Coordinate with external design studios and internal optics/electronics teams to ensure feasibility of design updates
Execute and document test plans, contribute to test fixture concepts for later automation
Required Skills
M.Sc. or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Optical Systems Engineering
5+ years of experience in integration of miniaturized mechatronic systems
Strong CAD and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) background
Knowledge of optical and electrical component alignment and frame housing design and prototyping (e.g. via 3D printing or injection molding)
Familiarity with smart devices, AR/VR headsets, or eyewear platforms
Able to work independently and collaboratively across functions
Experience in generating and filing patent
