Project Description:

Incident Management & Escalation Management

• Resolving incident tickets related to Network Infrastructure (core routing, ACI Fabric, firewall and load balancing), HANA Enterprise Cloud, Internal Datacenter, and WAN.

• Documentation of resolved incidents and troubleshooting steps.

Service Requests & Change Management

• Processing of service requests related to network configuration, access requests, and provisioning.
• Implementation of approved configuration changes following change management procedures.
• Maintenance of accurate records of changes.

Firewall Hardware and OS Upgrades

• Upgrade Planning: Creation of an upgrade plan.

• Assessment of the current hardware and software configurations
• Identification of the latest firmware versions
• Scheduling the upgrade to minimize disruption

• Pre-Upgrade Checks: Check of all necessary components, including backup systems.

• Creating backups of current configurations
• Reviewing existing setups
• Preparing contingency plans for unexpected issues

• Execution of Upgrades: Implementation of planned upgrades, starting with hardware enhancements.

• Replacing outdated components with new or improved hardware
• Check compatibility
• Performing initial tests to check functionality

• OS Upgrade Execution: Upgrade the firewall's operating system to the latest version.

• Installing the new OS
• Configuring settings
• Applying patches to address security vulnerabilities

• Post-Upgrade Testing: Conduction of testing after upgrades to validate success.

• Functionality tests.
• Performance assessments.

• Documentation: Maintenance of detailed documentation of the upgrade process, including

Circuit Failover & Provider Maintenance Management

• Monitoring circuit failovers during provider maintenance windows
• Validation of failover mechanisms
• Implementation of change processes for handling failovers
• Generation of alert silencing to minimize unnecessary alarms and ensure focus on critical Alerts

Regular Circuit Monitoring & Performance Optimization

• Performance Degradation Monitoring: Monitoring WAN circuits for signs of performance degradation, including

• Higher latency
• Increased jitter
• Packet loss

• Latency and Packet Loss Analysis: Analyzation of latency and packet loss patterns

• Identification of root causes
• Implementation of corrective measures

• Proactive Issue Identification: Employment of monitoring techniques to identify

• Potential issues
• Optimization of quick resolution and minimal impact on network performance.

• Corrective Action Implementation: Implementation of corrective actions, including

• Rerouting traffic
• Adjusting configurations
• Applying patches

• Performance Reporting: Creation of detailed performance reports, with key metrics such as through put, error rates, and uptime.
• Optimization Recommendations: Provision of actionable recommendations based on performance data, aimed at optimizing

Profile

• 
  
  Solid experience in operating and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures, especially in core routing, firewalls (including OS upgrades), ACI Fabric, and WAN environments.
• 
  
  Experience with incident, service request, and change management processes following ITIL standards, including documentation and implementation of planned configuration changes.
• 
  
  Strong skills in WAN performance analysis and optimization, such as monitoring latency, jitter, and packet loss, as well as implementing corrective actions to improve performance and ensure high availability.
