Amit has more than 18 years of experience in the stream of plant maintenance and SCM, in roles of solution expert, solution architect and team lead and integration manager across geographies.
SAP expertise in Plant Maintenance and SCM within the business areas of procurement, inventory management, document management system, MRO, sales and services.
He has completed mutiple end to end implementation cycles (from design to post go-live support) for complex SAP projects. He has worked extensively on integration of SAP with external tools like Bicycle, Synergy, ProArc, Aveva, HPSM etc. He has rich experience in master data conversion for plant maintenance, DMS and supply chain areas. Worked for multiple industries ranging from FMCG, Production, Rail, Oil and Gas and process industries.
Project history
2014-2017 Accenture AS: SME Manager
Amit worked as a shift Engineer (Mechanical maintenance) at a telecom cable manufacturing company in India. He was responsible for maintaining the entire plant including plant machinery and utilities equipment in shifts.
- March 2017-present: Norwegian oil and gas company: This is a S4 HANA implementation project, and Amit is responsible for defining a solution for Plant Maintenance. He also has the responsibility of leading the development team to deliver complex integration scenarios and other development objects
- Nov 2016-Feb 2017: Global pulp and paer manufacturing company based in Finland: This was a S4 HANA roadmap project, and Amit was responsible for defining a proposed to-be solution for Sourcing. (Purchase, inventory and warehouse management) and Maintenance.
- May 2016-Nov 2016: Global pharma company in Germany and Norway: As part of the COE team, Amit was responsible for implementation of PM solution for the US plant of a global pharma company. He was also responsible for supporting the MM (P2P and IM – Inbound and outbound) and PM parts for the global solution.
- Sept 2015-Dec 2015: Global consumer products company in Denmark: Amit was responsible to define Plant Maintenance template for a global manufacturing unit in 4 of its plants across Europe. The role involved requirement gathering, scope definition, build solution, get unit and integration testing done and get the solution deployed
- Jan 2015-Sept 2015: Consumer goods company: Amit was part of the team implementing SAP CS and MM modules in the Nordics region. As part of the scope, he was responsible for defining the solution for inventory (inbound and outbound), sales of machines and post sale service.
- May 2011-Dec 2014: Plant maintenance project manager in SAP MRO implementation project for a Scandinavian transportation company: Amit was project manager in the end-to-end design and implementation of a sustainable solution for train maintenance using SAP MRO. After post go-live support, the client requested Amit to become a part of the client management team, and support the client in the day-to-day activities and decision making regarding the solution as a whole.
- 2008 – 2011: Greenfield project for implementation of SAP in a new University coming up in Saudi Arabia. Amit was involved in designing and delivering of the SAP Plant Maintenance, document Management and mobile asset management solutions for the client (a greenfield project for the upcoming university). Having gained the confidence of the client, he was extended to stay for two additional years after the implementation was complete.
- 2007 – 2008: Team Lead – SAP PM and MM consultant for implementation of SAP in a large dairy based client. Amit was involved in defining a solution for Plant maintenance and DMS for the client.
- 2006 – 2007: Plant Maintenance Team member: Largest municipal corporations in India – SAP implementation project. Amit was involved in design and delivery of the fleet management solution for the client. It included integration with SAP Funds Management. He was also involved in designing a custom solution for the fleet schedule and planning.
- 2005 – 2005: Team member PM and MM: Implementing SAP for state owned Telecom company in India. Amit was involved in implementing SAP Plant Maintenance and materials management modules for a state owned telecom company in India.
