Skills

My deep grasp of IT concepts and implementations allow me to build scalable & flexible modern IT architectures and implementations using state-of-the-art methodologies such as event-sourcing, microservices or app meshes. My agile mindset integrates seamlessly into agile product environments and provides end-to-end coverage over refining requirements, designing solutions as well as implementation & operation using DevOps principles.

I have many years of experience with solution, systems and software architecture and profound knowledge both cloud technologies and services as well as a deep understanding of operating systems, network and security concepts and their implementations.

The skills, technologies and systems that I have strong experience in include:
Azure, Cloudfoundry, Apache Kafka, DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Linux, Git, CI/CD, Java, Spring, Golang, SQL, NoSQL, Python, JavaScript, C, IT software & systems architecture, Cloud-based architectures, operating system, Cloud, IMAP, Amazon AWS, Kafka, Redis, REST, JSON, cloud architecture, distributed systems, DevOps, relational databases, PaaS, databases, IBM DB2, XML, COBOL, open-source, Apache, IMAP servers, Mail, SpamAssassin, Rspamd, SQLite, TOML, Glassfish, WildFly, Unix, Microsoft Azure cloud storage.

I am certified in AWS Cloud Solution Architecture, iSAQB, TOGAF, and SCRUM.

Project history

01/2019 - Present
Open-source maintainer & software engineer
Open-Source (Other, < 10 employees)

  • Designing and implementing an IMAP-based spam checker centered around multiple open-source spam classification platforms from scratch
  • The purpose is to filter mails after the mail provider has already processed them, augmenting the spam processing done by the mail provider
  • Supports the very popular Apache SpamAssassin platform and Rspamd as a more modern alternative
  • The application allows the user to train the integrated statistical scoring systems using known mails to further extend the classification accuracy over what the mail provider offers
  • Implementing support for a broad set of IMAP servers while still using the IMAP extensions available on each server to allow for fast & efficient checking
  • Responsible for maintaining the repository & implementation

Skills & Technologies: Golang, Mail, IMAP, SpamAssassin, Rspamd, SQLite, SQL, TOML, Linux, Git, Basic Machine Learning

This project is open-source and available publicly at https://github.com/CrawX/go-imap-assassin
