Project history

05/2021 - 12/2022
BI Architect / BI Developer / Power BI Administrator
Toyota Motor Europe

I'm part of a TME Enterprise Architecture (EA) team called Business Intelligence
Competence Center (BICC). Our mission is to set and maintain BI standards, best
practices, governance, ... at the enterprise level. We must be able to understand the
needs of project teams as well as end-users and support them on creating effective
solutions.

My activities at BICC:
* Define Data & BI standards and guidelines for TME and NMSCs (pan-
European affiliates companies);
* Understand the business requirements and strategy;

* Create and maintain BI documentation on collaboration platforms within
TME (SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Confluence);

* Coordinate BI activities between business and IT teams, including NMSCs;
* Help create architectural BI product roadmaps;
* Collaborate with other IT teams (O365, DBA, Cloud) to establish governance,
data reliance and infrastructure standards;
* Maintain communication with BI project teams (incl. external vendors);
* Lead the Power BI community within TME; supporting people on developing
their BI reports, share tips and tricks or monthly PBI updates, and organise trainings of
external parties.

My main responsibilities are:
* Help teams gather requirements on data projects, share standards and good
practices, and publish documentation;
* Develop enterprise reference architecture and roadmaps;
* Coach and guide solution developers and key users;
* Reach consensus on the proposed solutions within EA and IT development
teams;
* Explain the technology direction to a technical audience;
* Help a non-technical audience (e.g. executives) understand complex issues.

Next to my role at the BICC, I'm part of a development team for a PAN-E project. In this
project there are several smaller projects. My main role is to support, develop, and
follow up. (Data analysis, ETL, SQL, SSAS, data modelling (Kimball)).

Business Intelligence Consultant
Tri-ICT

01/2020 - 05/2021
Power BI Developer
Euroclear

Euroclear is a Belgium-based financial services company that specializes in the
settlement of securities transactions as well as the safekeeping and asset servicing of
these securities. It was founded in 1968 as part of J.P. Morgan & Co. to settle trades on
the then developing Eurobond market.

Within Euroclear I completed 2 projects.

On his first project where I was onboarded to develop a Power BI dashboard that
would convince higher management to work with Power BI. The dashboard was
created with call center data. I've imported the data from different SQL Server
databases, transformed the data in Power BI using Power Query and DAX, created the
data model, and set up the default lay-out for future reports.

As I was the only person on this project, all required steps (feedback, requirements
gathering, implementation, ...) was all done by myself.

In second assignment I was part of an internal project team, with the goal to create a
Datawarehouse of operational metrics. These metrics contained data from the
mainframes, current workstations (are all devices updated to a support version?),
reviewing the access management (does this user have the correct accesses to access
this source?, ...), and tickets from ServiceNow.

My main goal was to develop reports with Power BI (DAX - Power Query -
Visualizations), analyse the data, discuss automatic feeding with data owners/ ETL
team, assist in the Power BI Server setup, developing in SQL Server (creation of tables,
views, ..), UML Data modelling (Kimball), PowerShell scripting, and researching new
ways to automate the data.

10/2018 - 12/2019
BI Developer
Atlas Copco

Atlas Copco is a world-leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions.

Customers benefit from innovative compressors, vacuum solutions and air treatment
systems, construction equipment, power tools and assembly systems.

I did 2 projects at Atlas Copco CT and a small reporting project for Industrial Technique
The first project was a migration project from on-premise to cloud and creating a
reporting solution on the data. The project was divided in 2 agile phases:

Phase 1: Front-end reporting Power BI.
My main role was creating reports with the use of custom columns, measures, DAX,
Power Query M, custom visuals, hierarchies, and creating and optimize data models in
Power BI. This was done by gathering the requirements from the client and
implementing this.

Phase 2: Back-end and frontend reporting developer

In this phase the focus was on creating and maintaining a SQL Server, OLAP cube
(SSAS), and the Azure environment, testing, migrating the data(ETL/ ELT) finding and
reporting data quality issues, testing the code and fixing errors, writing technical
analysis for the offshore team; this included coaching, reviewing their code, and
following up on them. After each step documentation was written.

The second project is a side project of the previous one. As the previous was about
hindcasting the data, the second one is about forecasting the data with CRM data. We
analysed the data that the sales representatives gave in their

respective CRM systems. With this data we started analysing, creating a new data
model (Kimball), developing and transforming the data present and present it in the
OLAP Cube (SSAS) newly created for the leading indicators project, where reports get
created on with Power BI.

For Atlas Copco IT I was tasked to modify the existing distributor dashboard, to be
more aligned for the IT business area. This was a solo project done in Power BI.
