With over 30 Years of experience in ICT I started in 1988 as a programmer with a small company in Belgium. We created accounting software written in Cobol. As it was a small company our work was more than programming alone, giving support to customers, installing hard- and software, training users where just a part of the work.
In 1989 I had to join the Belgian army for 10 months where I worked as a analyst programmer where I had to write different programs in Clipper.
After the army I joined Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) where I was a part of a team that developed Clipper software for a tour operator.
Mid of 1991 I decided to become an independent entrepreneur and started my own company. Goal of the company was to provide all in solutions going from networking, delivering and installing hardware and finally to develop custom made software for our clients. All our developments where done using Windev, Webdev and Windev Mobile, all tooling of PCSoft.
After 19 years, in 2000, I decided it was time to do something else and I sold the company and continued my career as a freelance consultant. I started with a Dutch company as Development Manager where I led a team of 15 analysts and developers. Under my guidance a retail ERP software was developed using Windev, scanning software using Windev Mobile and even our own Enterprise Service Bus specially designed for the high demands in the retail.
In 2015 I quit the job and after that I had a number of smaller assignments where I mainly worked as interim project manager with the assignment to reorganize the projects to get back on cope and budget.
In 2018 I started at KBC Insurance as freelance project manager where I’m still working today and I’m project lead in a number of projects that are IFRS17 related.At KBC I'm working with Collegues from all over Europe and the major part of the development is done off-shore in India.
All that time I kept a number of clients where I develop all the software, analyse the business needs and support the users. Th development is done in Windev, Webdev and Windev mobile. My clients vary from production ERP, lawyers office, distribution….
Due to my long experience I lead waterfall projects, I have experience with project organizations based on ²MSF, Agile, Scrum and Safe.
Since my wife and I plan to emigrate to Hungary I’m looking for new challenges that I can do from my home office or in North East Hungary.
