Project Summary

This is an upgrade project for Cognos 10.1 and Cognos 10.2 to Cognos 11 in all the environments Dev,
Test, QA and Production.

Roles and Responsibilities

* Responsible for installation, configuration, upgrading and maintaining Cognos 11 in a distributed
windows environment.
* Prepared and gathered all the requirements like checklist, servers and software to upgrade the
environments.
* Installation and configuration of Cognos Content Manager, Dispatcher and Gateway components.
* Installed databases like Netezza and SQL Server to update the Data Source Connections.
* SSL Certificate has been generated and applied for LDAP security namespaces.
* Performed IIS and Gateway configurations to bring up the web services.
* Implemented security part by merging multiple applications.
* Transformer cube updates and validated
* Cognos Report Schedules, batch files, and report migration by merging multiple applications.
* Configured SMTP to receive email notifications.
* Implemented performance and tuning in Cognos11.
* Coordinated with multiple teams like AUTOSYS, IAM, NETWORK and CLIENT.
* Maintain Windows servers including patching, disaster recovery, and security
* Setting up of the backups of all environments with backup and restoring of Content Store
Databases, backups of Cognos Configurations, Deployment of Public Folders
* Provided extensive End User Training and Support
* Strong organizational skills as well as the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and
complete projects under specified deadlines
* Experienced in handling case and problem Management record request with IBM.

companies in the world. In 2016, the company wrote $13.890 billion in gross premiums, of which 69%
was insurance, 29% was reinsurance, and 2% was other. Of the company's gross insurance premiums, 19%
was for professional liability insurance, 32% was for casualty insurance, 25% was to the energy
sector, and 24% was for specialty insurance such as pollution insurance, aviation and satellite,
marine, product recall, political risks, equine, and fine art insurance.
Project Summary:

Cognizant is involved mainly in the production support, development and Administration activities of
XL Catlin engagement. XL Group is a top Reinsurance company in world. Reports are developed entirely
based on a particular insurance & Re-insurance plans suggested by business analysts.

Responsibilities:

As an application developer & Admin in the current project, my responsibilities includes-

* Establishing user groups, roles and assigned privileges, implemented level of Security in
Cognos connection.
* Working on Hot fix / Fix pack releases.
* Creating jobs and report schedules and administer the same.
* Creating file system on different servers to transfer files and report output.
* Handle trigger / process failure issues and sort out the same.
* Administering dispatchers, services, data source creations and migrations from Cognos
connection.
* Working on code promotions / deployments across different environments.
* Trouble shooting Cognos access related issues.
* Involving dispatcher level tuning to improve the performance.
* Administer MotioCI services, report refresh, access grants and deployments.
* Configuring and maintaining IIS servers.
* Resolved many SRT's without missing TAT (Timelines) and Handled & Development many critical
CR's for Insurance and Re-Insurance application.

Canara HSBC Oriental Bank Of Commerce Life Insurance Company is a joint Venture between Canara Bank
(holding 51%).HSBC Insurance(Asia Pacific).Ltd (holding 26%) and Oriental Bank Of Commerce(holding
23%) Bank assurance Model is a win-win strategy between the insurance companies and the banks for
selling of insurance products by banks.


Project Summary:

Cognizant is involved mainly in the production support, development and maintenance activities of
CHOICE engagement. Group Asia is a huge market prospective where in Cognos reports are developed
entirely based on a particular insurance plan suggested by business analysts.

Responsibilities:


* Analysis of the specifications provided by the clients. Understanding the Functionality of the
reports.
* Modelling data in Cognos FM, creating and publishing FM packages from Cognos connection for
the reporting purposes.
* Creation of software design document and development and testing of reports for Ingenium and
Group Asia as per the SDD.
* Migration of objects like Cognos reports and packages from Dev environment to QA and
production environments.
* Developed various list, cross tab, chart reports for Ingenium and Group Asia as per the
requirement.
* Developed Master - Detail & Drill through reports.
* Developed simple as well as complex reports using report studio.
* Giving access rights to the users as per the business requirement.
* Involved in Performance issues in Report Studio.
* Involved in Unit Testing of the Reports.
* Resolved many SRT's without missing TAT (Timelines) and Handled & Development many critical
CR's for Ingenium.
* Good Knowledge on CRM process.
