Information Security and IT-Security Consultant

Hi, I am Fabian. I grew up in Germany and I live in Cyprus. I have a background in computer science (B. Sc. Inf.). My thesis covered the topic of the implementation of ISO/IEC 27001 at an IT service provider. Since then I have never left this domain and continued to work in the infosec field in any other role in the later course of my career.

My first steps in the field of IT began as a first-level admin during my internship and progressed to managing strategic IT projects, as well as being teamlead of an IT department. As a junior, I already was in charge of implementing ISO 27001 in a group structure within the first year after my degree. Thus I was responsible for the role of the CISO. We received the certification within 6 months. Before starting my own business, I worked as an auditor for an enterprise group with 50,000 employees worldwide. Hence I understand the challenges of traditional IT operations, including the role of the auditee and cloud security, as well as the in-depth auditing of compliance requirements and pen testing.

Through my combined technical and process expertise, as well as the competence to communicate with diverse stakeholders from specialists up to top management on an eye-to-eye level, I have enabled complex companies to achieve critical business goals. This applies to both established companies (e.g. critical infrastructures) and startups. I am a certified Auditor for ISO 27001.

I have a deep passion for integrated and holistic security. This includes technologies XDR, Automation, Vulnerability Management, Infosec frameworks like ISO, and myself being a security "influencer" for companies.

I enjoy networking, competitive sports, and learning new skills in my spare time. I was a volunteer assessor at the german chamber of commerce (IHK) to promote education in IT and to transfer knowledge to the upcoming generation. I am thrilled to coach companies and CEOs to build a secure culture starting with a pragmatic approach. My clients have a 100% success rate for their first certification and I have taken on several projects that had previously failed under other consultants.
