Furthermore as a member of the SAP BW team, my role was:
o To keep the existing BW applications – more than 20 – running

o Coördinate the externals if allocated to the project (BI related topics)

o Align with off shore partner (Cap Gemini India)

o Execute new projects in the BW area linked with SAP R/3 but also with
external systems.

Function: Analyst/programmer – project management
My function was to manage SAP projects from the analysis fase until the
implementation (within time and budget), including training of the end users.
Furthermore my role is to follow up the evolution of the SAP environment
(new technologies, SAP strategy,…) to improve the methodology that is used
for the Imec SAP projects.
o SAP BW:
Configuration of the SAP Business Warehouse.
E.g.:

o CO:
Setup
of a ‘customized’ cube, the business content CO cube.
The ‘customized’ cube is daily loaded via a flat file, extracted via an
ABAP program out of R/3.

o HR:
Since Imec uses a range of Imec specific infotypes, there was a need
for a ‘customized’ HR cube.
The extraction is also done via an ABAP program that daily generates
a flat file, that is daily loaded into BW.
Also some of the HR business content cubes were activated.

Current version of BW: 3.1.
(Migrated from 2.0B in December 2004)
Some BW reports are displayed via the WAS server on the Imec Intranet in the
Employee Self Service component.

o SAP R/3 (current version 4.7):
Development of ABAP (ALV) reports/batch inputs/uploads/interfaces/
SAP smartforms/function modules/user exits in the modules FI/CO/MM/HR/SD.
E.g.:

o HR :
● time&pay: development of an ‘IMEC version’ of the timesheet
with workflow for approval/rejection + several reports/control
programs – batch inputs.The timesheet is IMECwide
accessible via the Webgui (ITS) => in the ‘Employee Self
Service’ component.

● Development of Imec specific infotypes.

● Recruitment: project management of ‘Optimizing the Imec
recruitment process’:
Linking/archiving of recruitment documents:
Incoming documents (cv, motivation letter) in different format
(Word, PDF, RTF,) are stored in PDF format and linked to the
corresponding applicant.
Furthermore the documents needed to be spread to the
corresponding managers via workflow.

o SD:
● SAPsmartforms
for airway bills of different forwarding agents
(DHL, FedEx, UPS, TNT)

● Development of a scheduled upload of external sales orders
via a BAPI function.

o FI: implementation of IXOS for scanning/archiving the incoming
invoices.

o MM/WM: interface development between SAP – GIGASOFT =
software to manage the retrieval of materials from a leanlift.
Via a SAP application the user can select a number materials. Once
the necessary material is selected, the corresponding container in the
leanlift is fetched. After confirmation the retrieval action in SAP, all the
WM and MM processes are triggered in background.
The goods are stored in variable locations (implemented via a user
exit) and the goods are to be retrieved following the FIFO principle.
