I have been a professional software developer for 18 years, mostly in the finance & telecommunications industries, and more recently in the public sector. Having spent much of my career working & thinking with objects in languages such as Java, recent years have seen me focus on functional programming with languages such as Scala & Clojure. I have lots of experience working in agile environments as part of a multidisciplinary team, and in building strong relationships with non-technologists.
