Description

Founded by a serial entrepreneur whose last startup raised over $100m, has 500 employees and over 100,000 customers, Betterteam is a recruiting platform for small businesses worldwide. We are a remote-first company with most of the team having worked remote for a decade or more.

We’re looking for a great product manager to join us pre-launch and add serious value during the initial building phase. We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about really owning a product from the ground up and working directly with founders who’ve run multiple startups.

You’ll be working with a very small team of engineers who are some of the best on the planet.

What will you do all day?
You'll be working directly with the founders of the business who have a stellar track record both building great products and marketing them to the world. You really will own the product in this role instead of babysitting it.

Other stuff you will be doing:

  • Talk to every early stage customer and prospect we receive. Learn and understand their pains and frustrations intimately and brainstorm product ideas to solve those pain points.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and analyze what competitors are doing well, what they’re doing poorly, and what we can learn to help us build a product with excellent customer happiness and traction.
  • Work directly with our designers and assist with product design and user experience. If you get excited about creating a delightful experience for users, then this is the job for you.
  • You don’t suffer from Not Invented Here (NIH) syndrome -- ie. if a competitor or another startup is doing something great, then you’ll gladly borrow, copy, and adapt that idea if it means making our customers happier and the company more successful.
  • You’ll be responsible for creating the roadmap, defining every feature, creating product specs for engineers, and helping prioritize and deliver features.
  • You’ll work with customers while designing and prioritizing features, prototyping products, and gathering feedback in realtime.
  • It goes without saying that you love making customers happy and you love honest, open feedback but also understand how to take that feedback and make it useful.
  • You’ll design, build and test an onboarding journey that gets customers to “wow” super fast. You’ll borrow ideas from other SaaS companies and test iterations to make onboarding a breeze.
  • You’ll collect, communicate and prioritize bugs that need to be fixed.

About you:

  • You are able to go from novice to deep deep domain expertise by just dumping huge piles of information in your brain.
  • You can take something super complicated and rip steps out to make it super easy.
  • Understand the big picture. Broad and fluffy term but you should be able to think outside of product and understand the full pathway our clients take. You understand the marketing funnel, retention analysis,i and all that jazz.
  • You can spot good UX a million miles away. Bad UX makes you go on a tweet rampage. You always achieve pixel perfect.
  • You are obsessed with new products and gadgets.
  • Bad product reviews really hit you hard. You take it very personally. You probably won’t sleep that night. But you learn from it, then work out the solution and implement it.
  • You trawl ProductHunt like a an addict seeking a fix.
