Description

A 6 month contract opportunity is available for an experienced Construction Manager to oversee onshore wind turbine construction during the execution phase of projects.

The post-holder will report into the Regional Head. This will be a temporary contract post of minimum 6 months duration which is based at sites, potentially covering two construction sites.

The candidates may be based either in Scotland or in England but must be prepared to base themselves at site, during which time accommodation costs will be paid by the company.

The Role

Ensure that all HSE-requirements are adhered to at the construction site.
Instruct and coordinate all persons involved at the construction site, internal as well as external.
Conduct construction site meetings, particularly daily construction meetings, according to the work instruction for construction site meetings.
Ensure the construction site reporting towards the Project Manager
Implement and adhere to the project time schedule.
coordinating material flows, transports and crane works during the daily business on the construction site.
Approve construction site requirements exceeding the agreed scope of supply (eg small cranes) towards internal and external sub-contractors and service providers
Check and technically approve all construction site works including allowance control, check additional works and technically check invoices following the four-eyes-principle
Implementation and follow-up of HSE-matters as well responsibility for HSE on the construction site.
Attend to the resolution of technical defects jointly with sub-contractors and internal colleagues
Conduct all necessary takeovers/acceptances with all internal and external sub-contractors.

The Candidate
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
At least 2 years experience within heavy civil works Project Management, ideally within the wind energy sector
Positive, proactive approach to team work with strong communication and interpersonal skills
HSE conscious with strong attention to detail and strong familiarity with UK HSE legislation under CDM
Strong decision making skills with ability to work on different projects at the same time
Microsoft office suite knowledge and
Large scale Construction Management experience
Full driving licence and willingness to travel is essential
