Fibre Design and Planning ManagerWe are currently recruiting for our client, an International Telecommunications Organisation for a Fibre Design and Planning Manager to join their project in UK.
Our client is a world-leading provider of telecommunications equipment & services to mobile & fixed network operators. Over 1,000 networks in more than 180 countries use their equipment & more than 40 percent of the world's mobile traffic passes through their networks.

Responsibilities:
- To lead all fibre design activities for UK fibre service deliveries and provide technical expertise on all aspects of fibre design and planning.
- To assist the business development team in pre-sales activities focused on passive fibre network design and deployment projects. This includes engagement with customers.
- To manage internal and third party teams to produce high quality designs of HFC, FTTX and B2B networks for underground and aerial networks in the UK.
- Manage project demand and resources to ensure deliverables are tracked and completed on or before agreed timescales.Report on project deliverables to project managers
- Responsible for new build, customer connections, network upgrades, diversionary works and customised solutions.
Qualifications/Professional experiences Required:
- 5+ years of experience of UK fixed and cable operator fibre design, including detailed knowledge of their planning guidelines and ways of working on GPON, FTTX and HFC networks;
- 5+ years of design experience and usage of design, survey & inventory applications, e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, Smallworld, Gcomms, Network Engineer etc;
- Excellent knowledge of FTTx topology including mixed networks with GPON, G.Fast, VDSL, HFC, DOCSIS;
- Good network within the UK fibre services industry – both suppliers and customers;
- Extensive experience with Permit drafting/drawings, High Level Design (Nominal Design), Low Level Design (Detailed Design) and As–Built Engineering;
- Solid understanding of OSP network design key drivers affecting cost in OSP network roll outs;
- Good knowledge of CDM Regulations and up-to-date working knowledge of related legislation;
- Good understanding of construction techniques & materials - specifically, which methods can/should be used in which circumstances.
