Description
A Global Insurance & Reinsurance firm based in the City with offices across all continents has an urgent requirement for an experienced Finance Business Analyst who has considerable experience of working within the Insurance, Lloyds market. The successful Finance Business Analyst will be joining a dedicated team who are responsible for the Global Process & Systems Transformation programme.
Working within the Business Analysis team you will be required to work collaboratively on clearly defining & Implementing the TOM Target Operating Model for Finance. The role will focus extensively on the accurate financial processing and reporting, provision of quality financial analysis and feedback to the business functions involved in all regulatory reporting, performance, planning and forecasting processes.
Specific Responsibilities
- Have the ability to comprehend all dependencies and links to the Financial process in insurance and standardisation and simplification.
- Perform business process analysis in order to understand current processes and evaluate and propose options for future processes in a global Finance department.
- Provide input into required project life cycle documentation such as Project Initiation Document (PID), detailed Business Requirement Document (BRD) and provides clear communications to project team.
- Participates in Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Meet with end user stakeholders, vendors and specialists to develop and refine project requirements
- Defining & Implementing TOM Target Operating Model for Finance
Essential Skills that are required
- Strong understanding of financial processing of insurance/reinsurance data including earnings and IBNR calculations
- A background in Finance and/or IT with strong competence in Finance IT and process related projects
- Experience with Finance processing, recording and reporting systems such as earnings calculators, Coda and Cognos
Desirable
- Knowledge of the ledger posting process.
- Knowledge of US financial regulatory reporting
