Core Responsibilities
Play a significant role in providing a strong finance function, maintaining and improving effective controls, systems and advice to internal customers;
Provide advice to Finance Director on propriety, regularity and value for money.
Provide leadership to the in-house teams in providing support to colleagues across Acas;
Act as an intelligent customer in challenging and supporting the shared service function in delivery of a fit for purpose service, avoiding duplication and representing value for money.
Advise the Finance Director on risk management, reflecting best practice across Government and taking account of developments
Help support and inform the work of the Audit Committee.
Act effectively as a member of senior management team in leading change and providing professional functional leadership.
Help build an effective Finance, Estates and Procurement Directorate that meets customer needs, relevant professional standards and is fit and flexible for the future. Corporate
Establish and develop professional, collaborative and constructive relations, challenging others where necessary (eg auditors, audit committee)
Experience:
Formal qualification(s) in either finance, procurement, estates or project management, A CCAB or CIMA qualification is essential to the role.
It is important that you are able to demonstrate relevant background at a senior level, along with well-developed leadership and inter-personal skills as the role involves inter-action with people at all levels both within and outside Acas. To this end, the post holder will be expected to model appropriate leadership behaviours in the role and as part of the senior management teams of the Directorate and of Acas.
