Description

Role Purpose (overall high level summary of the role)

Assist in managing and further development of the suite of HESI index funds and perform related alternative indexing research. A secondary role will be to contribute to the broader investment research work of the Global Equity Research team. Assist in the continual improvement of the global equity investment process, carrying out quantitative research projects and analysis.

Source and keep up-to-date all necessary data for managing the fundamentally-weighted index funds. In particular, to be responsible for the collection, verification and processing of corporate actions data in an accurate and timely manner.

Participate in building and maintaining a system for managing the suite of the fundamentally-weighted index funds. Research and implement improvements of the index methodology.

Participate in the research and development of existing and new investment strategies. Research and test new investment signals, strategies, investment tools and risk models.

Ensure consistency of approach across the business wherever possible and develop the highest standards of governance

Assist in producing analysis on investments, using qualitative and quantitative tools

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications (For the role - not the role holder. Minimum requirements of the role.)

Minimum of two years' experience in a quantitative research capacity, with good understanding of equity research. Practical experience of collecting and analysing data (such as corporate actions data), building automated systems for index rebalancing and backtesting essential together with strong analytical and problem solving skills. Good academic records. Positive and proactive attitude with flexibility to accommodate changing environment and willingness to take on new responsibilities. Excellent communication skills with the ability to converse at all levels.

Degree in economics or mathematical/scientific discipline, preferably post graduate degree

Programing/system skills: Excel, VBA, R, SQL
