An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Planner to work within Central Government on a contract basis. This position is based in London, initially for 3 months, offering up to £300 per day Ltd.
Main Duties:
The SFO is a unique law enforcement organisation which both investigates and prosecutes the most serious economic crime. We focus on criminal conduct which undermines confidence in UK financial plc and the City of London in particular, compromises the level playing field that investors deserve, or has a particularly strong public interest dimension.
Providing an effective Business Partnering service to support budget holders in their budget management and forecasting responsibilities.
Providing support and advice to budget holders on a day to day basis to help them manage their resources effectively, producing accurate and timely financial and management information, as required.
Supporting the annual budget setting exercise and helping to ensure that resources are allocated in such a way as to enable the SFO to operate effectively within its allocated funding envelope.
Providing costing support and advice to ensure that full case costs are captures and robust submissions can be made into court where cost orders are sought.
Maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Support the Finance team in ensuring that accurate accrual and commitment data is held and financial reports and accounts can be produced promptly and accurately.
Assisting other team members by sharing specialist knowledge and experience.
Essential Experience:
CCAB (or CIMA) qualification or equivalent
Finance background with demonstrable evidence of having supported the business in improving its financial management
Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Effective use of MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Experience of working with Oracle e-Financials, SAP Business Objects or similar financial information and management reporting tools
Experience of working in a small non-ministerial Government department with exposure to senior budget holders at management board and senior management team level
Experience of the criminal justice system or similar enforcement and compliance areas.
Experience of working as part of a small multi-functioning finance team, supporting fellow team members to achieve joint objectives
Costing experience and experience of supporting programme managers
