Collections Manager - Financial Services - South Wales - competitive day rate dependent upon relevant experience
The successful Collections Manager will be responsible for minimising bad debt losses through the effective design, monitoring and deployment of a collections strategy, policy and process for all products.
The Collections Manager will be expected to identify and pursue opportunities that enhance the collectability of/financial return from impaired assets by improving the decision tools, treatments and strategies used within the collections processes.
Responsibilities;
- Responsible for the development, monitoring and implementation of collections strategies, driving incremental & step change improvements.
- Develop and implement policy to maximise returns and manage financial difficulty.
- Management of external debt collection agents, including reviewing strategies to maximise cost effect recoveries.
- Build and develop fully value segmented strategies and processes.
- Manage production of insightful and timely MI to inform Senior Management decision making and deliver detailed financial and behavioural trend analysis, and produce robust projections.
- Audit, review & document collections policies, strategies & practices.
- Support business direction setting will be an important component as will liaising with members of cross business functions such as compliance, legal and risk.
Experience Required;
- Collections management experience (min 3 years)
- The ability to interpret complex data and apply advanced numerical techniques is key, and familiarity with statistical methods is expected
- Ability to influence up to and including Senior management level
- Paper production for Senior Management audience
- Colleagues will be expected to use all available tools such as SAS and Excel at an advanced level to manipulate and interrogate data
- To apply commercial acumen to interpret results and produce actionable recommendations
