This leading E-commerce business has an exciting opportunity for someone keen to gain experience within the Back Office finance function of a FTSE 100 business.

The Cheque Coordinator is responsible for co-ordinating all cheque payments made by the company. It also supports other types of payments in the banking function, and actively works on process improvement projects. The role facilitates payments through a number of bank accounts across different European countries and reports directly to the Banking Manager in the Financial Transactions team.

Your specific accountabilities will include;

  • Overseeing and coordinating the production of regular cheque batches through the cash management bank for items such as disruption compensation
  • Ensuring that all cheque batches are approved by the authorisers and submitted before the relevant cut off times
  • Reconcile the unpresented cheques and manage the posting of cheques during the month end process
  • Production of a cheque payment log
  • Liaising with the legal team about any issues with cheques
  • Being the main point of contact between the bank and the business with regards to cheques
  • Dealing with any cheque queries from customer services both timely and efficiently
  • Assist in the calculation of the cheque fees and liaise with the banks on discrepancies.
  • Understanding of the cheque process from end to end
  • Adhere to SLAs agreed within the business
  • Drive process improvement
  • Be able to cover members of the Back Office function
  • Ad-hoc - any other requests which come into the function

In order to be considered for this role you will need to have some previous experience working within a finance function (ideally Back Office) coupled with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Experience with the MS Office suite including excellent Excel ability is a must.
