Job Description:
- Work with Business Analysts and Project Managers to understand business requirements and translate these to high level designs, detailed technical specification and solution designs.
- Provision of design documentation for all solutions, ensuring solutions support architecture roadmaps, standards and principles.
- Management and maintenance of design and solution documentation.
- Assist in establish financial transparency of all solutions, by considering key costs area such as software licensing and hardware specifications.
- Engage with all key stakeholders through all phases of the project, ensuring that solutions are deployed within agreed timelines.
- Support the handover of all solutions to IS operations, ensuring appropriate documentation such as work instructions and run books.
- Promote and champion best practices in terms of solution design, ensuring consideration of strategic roadmaps and strategy's.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Successful candidate to have 10+ years enterprise technology experience, with a proven track record in the delivery of IT enabled change.
- Proven solution architecture, design, and implementation experience with large scale projects.
- Extensive experience of Microsoft and Oracle technologies.
- A broad understanding of application, information and infrastructure technologies & industry best practices.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to communicate technical issues and strategy to both technical and non-technical audiences; backed-up with strong interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's Degree or Masters in Computer Systems or Software Engineering or related technical discipline.
Desirable
- Middleware and integration design experience.
- Architecture Certification and Accreditation (TOGAF, IASA, ITIL, etc.)
- Experience in the utility sector
