Title: EHS Engineer - IL
Location: Aurora, IL
Rate: $24.43 - $28.43/hr on w2 without benefits
Duration: 4 months with possible extension or hire
Education:
- Certified Safety Professional or industrial hygienist
Experience in:
- Agency reporting, OSHA- and IL EPA requirements
Description:
- Situation: bridge a gap in the EHS area. Support a consultancy firm & local Q&R to collect data.
- Maintains compliance with all applicable workplace health, safety and environmental standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Maintain Compliance with the following standards and regulations:
- 29 CFR 1910
- 40 CFR
- 49 CFR
- 32 ILL Administrative Code; Chart II Part 310, 320
- ISO 14001
- Job risk assessments
- 6S program lead
- Complete and submit all required environmental reports.
- Chair the EH&S Team and Safety Committee
- Lead teams and projects to increase employee awareness and involvement in decreasing the environmental impact of the organization.
- Lead teams and projects to increase employee awareness and involvement in health and safety matters with the goal to reduce or eliminate workplace injuries.
- Work with Engineering to assure product is compliant to RoHs and Reach Directives for the EU and the organization is compliant to Conflict Mineral legislation for the US.
Job Requirements:
- BS engineering
- 5 years experience in Health & Safety, preferably in a process focused industry
- Demonstrated problem solving capability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Eager to take the ownership for health and safety in our facility
