Sopra Sterias large Blue Chip Client are looking for a Data Visualisation Analyst to join them on their exciting journey in expanding their Data Science operations throughout the UK business and eventually throughout their Global organisation.
The Data Science Analyst role will be based in Middlesex and will initially be for a 6 month contract.
The data science team care about improving their business for their customers and their people.

The Role This role will be part of an innovative and expanding multi-disciplinary team that is responsible for new development, feature additions, maintenance and support of a number of key components of Big Data products and technologies.

As our Data Science Analyst, you'll be involved in ground-breaking visionary ideas to deliver Big Data products & solutions.
In doing so, you will:
- Use cutting edge visualisations to enable our business to better explore the patterns and trends hidden within our data.
- Develop new data solutions beyond static reports and spreadsheets, bringing data to life
- Use data analysis techniques to deliver quick working prototypes to prove hypothesis by building statistical models using a range of tools including R, Python, and Spark.
- Ability to adapt to new development environments and handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with complex dependencies and requirements.
- Practical experience using Agile and related delivery methodologies including scrum and/or Kanban techniques.
For this role you will ideally have experience, or knowledge at a post graduate level, in the following:
Programming experience or exposure to some of the following (or similar) technologies:
Java, Threejs, D3, Qlikview, R, Python, Matlab, SQL, No-SQL
Educated to degree level or with hands on Data Science/Big Data experience
Strong grasp of numbers, statistics, mathematical concepts, and algorithms.
Knowledge of data structures, relational data, and Big Data platforms.
